Rhinoplasty

Mr Blake performs rhinoplasty for cosmetic and functional concerns. Many patients have concerns about their breathing at rest or especially during exercise. Equally, many patients are unsatisfied with the shape or size of their nose. A carefully planned, individualised rhinoplasty may address both types of concerns. Over at least two consultations Mr Blake will address your concerns and discuss a tailored approach to your nose. No two noses are the same and similarly no two rhinoplasties are the same.

FAQs

What is Metamorphics?

In the great majority of rhinoplasty patients Mr Blake will suggest using pre-operative computerised image manipulation to produce images of what you want from your surgery. Not all requests are achievable and your manipulated photos will allow clarity on what is in your mind and what I can offer. Mr Blake uses a firm called Metamorphics to produce these images, you keep the pictures and no commissions are paid by either party.

How much time will I need off?

The answer to this depends on the surgical plan. Some minor work may need no dressings and be conducive to minimal time off. However a full rhinoplasty with movement of the bones can cause swelling or bruising which may last many days. Mr Blake will discuss what to expect with you in advance, but remember that everyone is different and some recover faster than others.

Should I see an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon?

Mr Blake works in association with several ENT surgeons and, in certain circumstances, may recommend that you see one. Commonly this occurs when consideration of sinus or complex septal surgery is needed. You may need a CT scan to assess this.

Rhinoplasty or more commonly known as "Nose Job" - Plastic Surgeon William Blake specialises in the Rhinoplasty "Nose Job" procedure to help improve and address imperfections or deformities caused by trauma or congenital, from birth, by remodelling the bone, cartilage and skin of the nose.

Open rhinoplasty, with an incision across the columella, or closed rhinoplasty both address certain aesthetic or cosmetic concerns. Rhinoplasty may improve airway and breathing as well as addressing appearance.
